EUDR Enforcement: 100 Days Left

Summary

This article outlines five common compliance gaps involving upstream transaction documents, BOM completion, material-balance data, transaction timelines, and forest traceability. Addressing these issues can help importers prepare their DDS and reduce the risk of order rejection, shipment delays, and document rework.

EUDR Enforcement: 100 Days Left
Under the EU Deforestationfree Products Regulation (EUDR), full enforcement will apply to large and mediumsized operators starting from 30 December 2026. The countdown is less than 100 days.

In case of noncompliance, EU importers may face border detention, mandatory product recalls, public namingandshaming, and fines of up to 4 % of their annual EUwide turnover. For Chinese manufacturers, the real consequences include customers being unable to submit the DDS, order rejections and blocked shipments.

Within the full compliance chain, most Chinese factories are not the party that directly submits the DDS. Instead, their role is to enable EU importers to submit the DDS successfully. The core obligation of suppliers is to provide a complete, consistent and verifiable chainofevidence.

As a professional wooden tableware manufacturer, Dalian Greenwood has identified five major deficiencies that commonly cause document rework and compliance blockages:
1.Missing upstream transaction documents
2.Nonstandard BOM completion
3.Inconsistent materialbalance data
4.Chronological conflicts in transaction records
5.Insufficient foresttraceability information
